Editorial policy
How we research, write, review, correct and update the content published by Lynch Laboral.
Purpose
Our insights and guides are written to help general managers, finance teams, HR leaders and international headquarters understand Peruvian employment law and make better decisions. They are for general information: they explain rules, risks and good practice, but they are not a substitute for advice on a specific situation.
Sources
We rely first on official sources: the Peruvian Constitution, statutes and decrees published in the official gazette (El Peruano), and institutional information from the Ministry of Labor and Employment Promotion (MTPE), the labor inspection authority (SUNAFIL), the Constitutional Court, the judiciary, the tax authority (SUNAT), the public health insurer (EsSalud) and other public bodies. Every insight lists its sources and legislation.
Where we have not been able to verify a data point (a deadline, an amount or whether a rule is still in force), we describe it in general terms rather than state it with a precision we cannot support.
Statute, practice and recommendation
In every piece we separate:
- Legislation: what the statute or regulation says.
- Case law: what the courts have decided, cited only when verified.
- Administrative practice: how the authorities usually act, presented as such.
- Professional recommendation: our preventive view, identified as a recommendation.
Illustrative scenarios are hypothetical. We do not publish client information, testimonials or statistics we cannot support.
Authorship and review
Content is prepared by the Lynch Laboral team and signed by the editorial team until verified individual profiles are published. Each piece shows its publication and last-update dates. When a lawyer completes the legal review of a piece, that review is recorded with its date.
Updates
Peruvian employment law changes often: the minimum wage, the tax reference unit (UIT), fine schedules, regulations and case law. We periodically review the content most exposed to change and only update the modification date when the text has actually been reviewed.
Corrections
If you spot an error or outdated legislation, please tell us through our contact page. We will assess it and, where appropriate, correct the content and update its modification date.
Scope
Published information reflects the legislation reviewed as of the update date shown on each piece. It is not legal advice and does not create a professional relationship. Before making a decision, we recommend a specific assessment of your company’s facts and documents.
Editorial independence
Lynch Laboral is institutionally affiliated with Lynch Contadores & Abogados and coordinates with Lynch Payroll on payroll matters. We mention these brands only where relevant to the topic, and this does not shape our legal analysis.
